FULL-TIME RESEARCH POSITION ON MIXED REALITY DEVICES FOR MEDICINE
The Division of Imaging, Diagnostics, and Software Reliability (DIDSR) in the Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a full-time staff with experience or interest in virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR).
The candidate will be part of a newly established team designing VR/AR medical applications, performing optical bench testing, and translating the testing from the bench to human perception and usability. The candidate is expected to contribute to and lead publications. The selected candidate will join an active research group in regulatory science areas in experimental and computational medical imaging in the White Oak campus in Silver Spring (see link below) within the metropolitan DC region with multiple opportunities for further training and collaborations within and outside the FDA.
Candidates must undergo a background investigation and need to have resided in the United States for at least three of the past five years. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS INCLUDE
1. Experience with VR/AR devices and applications
2. Basic programming including Visual Studio 2015, Java, C++, Python
3. Graphics programming including Unity
4. Device programming including Matlab, LabVIEW, Android Studio
5. Optical measurements, imaging and optical metrology
