Postdoctoral Position available - PDT dosimetry and spectroscopy (Philadelphia, USA)

 

Our PDT dosimetry Lab at the University of Pennsylvania, is currently seeking for a highly motivated post-doctoral fellow with a background on biomedical research, especially in optical spectroscopy and finite-element analysis and/or Monte Carlo simulation, and with great interpersonal skills.

 

The scope of the work will mainly focus on light dosimetry in intra-cavitory conditions, development of innovative light blanket for plueral PDT treatment, and development of a treatment planning system for pleural PDT with real-time image guidance with a strong emphasis on clinical applications. The PDT dosimetry developments are following our recent work on reactive oxygen species (ROS) modeling based on explicit in-vivo dosimetry of light, photosensitizer concentration, and oxygen.

 

The work will be performed at the Department of Radiation Oncology (http://xrt.upenn.edu) at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, in direct contact with surgeons and other oncologists, healthcare professionals and medical physicists. This work will also be in direct collaboration with the program project in PDT at the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine, University of Pennsylvania.

 

The position funded by NIH grants and is available immediately for 1 year with the possibility of renewal for another year contingent on performance and funding availability.
