VUMC Post-doctoral Opportunity in

Cancer-related Cutaneous Imaging

 

Position:

The Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) in Nashville, Tennessee is seeking motivated post-doctoral candidates to develop their translational research career in biophotonics and imaging of cutaneous manifestations of cancer and its treatments. Multimodal dermatologic imaging techniques including total body photography, spectrophotometry, confocal microscopy, optical coherence tomography, and Raman spectroscopy will be applied in ongoing multicenter clinical trials and basic science research. Initial appointment will be for one year with annual renewal up to three years.

Candidates will benefit from a personalized research program catered to their goals utilizing resources and mentoring within the VUMC Division of Oncology and the Division of Dermatology as well as The Biophotonics Center within the Vanderbilt Department of Biomedical Engineering. The renowned Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center brings together clinicians, basic scientists, engineers and statisticians in close collaboration due to its interdisciplinary research and close physical proximity of the School of Medicine to the School of Engineering (100-200 yards).  Representative research is described on our websites:

Qualifications:

Ph.D. or equivalent degree with expertise in at least one of the following: dermatologic imaging, multivariate data analysis, optical spectroscopy, image processing, optical design, clinical device validation, clinical trials, immunology, or biomarkers.
