DoseOptics, Lebanon, NH, United States
Employer Description
DoseOptics LLC is an early stage start-up developing novel technology capable of real time imaging of radiation therapy in cancer patients during treatment. The company was founded to translate discoveries made through a collaborative effort between the Thayer School of Engineering and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth in the areas of cancer imaging and therapy. DoseOptics has $1.4 Million in funding from the NIH, with another $2 Million due to be awarded soon. This funding is being used to develop prototypes for human imaging and clinical instrument calibration. These systems capture the low-intensity emissions of Čerenkov light coming from radiation interacting with tissue, and use specialized triggering and image processing to remove background signals. Collaboration with the Dartmouth Engineering School and the Radiation Oncology department at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center is part of the work, and location may shift with work goals. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Bachelors in engineering or physical sciences is required, with higher education such as Masters or PhD possible and preferred, if available.
