Postdoc Openings - Ben-Yakar Lab at The University of Texas at Austin

Open Position – Postdoctoral Scholar

A Postdoctoral Scholar position is available for candidates with a recent PhD degree in

one of the following disciplines: Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering, or

Physics. The candidate will be participating in the research and development of

“Image-Guided Ultrafast Laser Scalpels for Precise, Selective, and Minimally

Invasive Micro-Surgery” project funded by Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of

Texas, with collaborators from Stanford Medical School, Harvard Medical School, and

Rice University.

 

The candidate is expected to conduct research in the areas of micro-optics, nonlinear

optics, and tissue-laser interactions. Experience in lasers and optics is desired.

Background in biomedical optics, photonic bandgap fibers, optical design, modeling

with Zemax, and/or MEMS is a plus.

 

Successful applicants are expected to be creative, self-motivated, and have strong written and oral communication skills.
