The Guided Therapeutics, Inc. Research & Development team is seeking an experienced, Software Engineer to support the software development of new medical devices as well as to increase our ability to deliver integrated hardware and software solutions to meet project specific requirements. This is a permanent position.

 

This individual will be Responsible for:

·         Developing and improving complex software system designs that meet product specifications, are maintainable, and can be understood by other software engineers and project management.

·         Writing product requirement documents, design, develop and document code, unit tests and help the verification team perform and document verification testing.

·         Actively participating in all facets of the software development life cycle using proven software methodologies to ensure high quality products.

  • Analyzing system performance to identify potential problems and improvements.

The Ideal Candidate will Possess:

·         An energized attitude with the ability to concurrently handle multiple tasks

·         Be comfortable working as part of an interdisciplinary team.

·         Be an independent worker requiring minimal oversight

·         A demonstrated ability to work with tight schedules, and deliver results on time.

·         Be a polished communicator - written & oral presentations/discussions/meetings.

·         An understanding of the relationship between software, electrical, mechanical and the optical aspects of medical devices.

Qualifications:

MUST have and be Proficient with:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software/Computer/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Windows OS Application development using a Formal Software Life Cycle.
  • USB Development for custom hardware with bulk data transfers.
  • Applications Development using C# in Windows Visual Studio.
  • .NET Framework 3.5 or 4 for Windows Applications.

Desirable Experience includes:

·         Seven years hands-on development using a formal life cycle.

·         WPF, C++, Embedded Windows 7 Standard OS, TFS, MSDN, QT.

·         ANSI/AAMI/IEC 62304:2006 Medical Device Software – Life Cycle.

·         Development of a medical product using an FDA regulated life cycle.

·         FDA 21 CFR 820, QSR, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO14971, cGMP, SEI.

Any of the following are considered a plus:

·         MCPD or MCTS credentials for .NET 3.5, .NET 4.0 and Visual Studio 2010.

·         Algorithm development, statistical methods, spectroscopic techniques, T-test.

·         MATLAB, USBTrace, SumatraPDF, image processing, scientific computations.

·         Programming PIC18F microprocessors using Microchip MPLAB IDE and C18.

·         CyConsole, Keil uVision4, Crossworks, DevWare, MS Office 2010.
