An opening is available for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging, Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. This position is supported by a new collaboration between MGH and Philips Healthcare in developing novel multi-modality optical breast imaging systems.
Expected Role: This fellow will work closely with investigators at MGH and directly interact with engineers from Philips to develop translational optical imaging hardware, improve and integrate a finite-element (FE) based image reconstruction platform with commercial multimodality workstations. This fellow is also expected to develop innovative optical data analysis methods, participate clinical studies and the analysis of clinical measurements.
Requirements: The candidate should have a PhD degree in biomedical/electrical engineering, physics, computer sciences or related fields. Candidates with specific experiences in developing optical imaging instrumentation, algorithms and data analyses will be favorably considered. Good programming skills in C/C++/Fortran/MATLAB and general understandings to optical modeling methods - such as finite-element, Monte Carlo, inverse problem - are desired. Good writing and communication skills are favorable. The candidate is expected to be highly creative and strongly motivated in the research and is capable of working in a collaborative environment.
