Caliper is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develops algorithms, user interfaces and code for image and data analysis, instrument control and data acquisition for scientific instrumentation in C/C++ in support in vivo optical imaging technology.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in physics, biomedical engineering, computational engineering, or equivalent. The ability to develop 3D visualization tools; develop image processing algorithms and instrument control routines; define and document software requirements; work with technical writers to document algorithms and codes; and, assist in testing and debugging commercial code are essential.
Required skills/experience:
o BS degree required /MS degree preferred, with 5 years or more experience in developing applications for scientific instrumentation
o Expert in C/C++ programming
o Familiar with parallel computing
o 3D visualization, OpenGL and image processing
o Excellent English speaking and writing skills
o Full life cycle software development experience
Additional Desirable Skills:
o Experience with instrument control.
o Familiarity with standards such as DICOM, Open Inventor
o Experience porting algorithms from Matlab or IDL to C++
o Ability to work closely with a diverse engineering and scientific team
o Experience with GPU computing and CUDA is a plus
