post-doc or specialist position, Beckman Laser Institute, Spatial Frequency Domain Imaging

 

The Laboratory for Functional Imaging and Spectroscopy of Superficial Tissues (Durkin Lab) is seeking applicants with an interest in translational optical imaging related to 2 year NIH funded grant. Responsibilities include collection and analysis of Spatial Frequency Domain Imaging (also known as Modulated Imaging) data in both preclinical and clinical settings as well as instrument design and assembly.

Experience in biophotonics and tissue optics is required. Experience with LabView and MATLAB programming is desirable. In addition, candidate should have experience assembling instrumentation. Professional communication skills, both written and oral, are a must, as is a willingness to help manage projects. Candidates for post-doctoral employment must have a Ph.D. Candidates must have the ability to work in an interdisciplinary setting.

The researcher hired for this position will not only assist in the development of state of the wide-field imaging technology, but will also work closely with Surgeons and Surgical Residents at the UCI Medical Center.
