Topic: Intravital Optical Neuroimaging

Description:
Seeking a motivated and conscientious applicant to undertake in-vivo studies of neurovascular coupling, metabolism, brain development and disease in the rodent brain. Our lab has developed a range of high-performance optical imaging systems ranging from two-photon microscopy to high-speed spectroscopic imaging of intrinsic signals. The successful applicant will be expected to undertake highly interdisciplinary research including performing surgical preparations, acquiring in-vivo data and performing analysis on the resulting image data sets using Matlab or related software. Training is available for these different aspects of the position.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have relevant experience and hold a doctoral degree in a related field (Neuroscience, Physics, Biomedical / Electrical Engineering or other Biological or Physical Sciences). Excellent organizational and communication skills are important. The initial appointment will be for a one-year period, with the possibility of extension. International scholars and minorities are encouraged to apply.
