Job Description
Johnson & Johnson Consumer & Personal Products Worldwide, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies is recruiting for a Post Doctoral Scientist located in Skillman, NJ.
Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products Company, a division of Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc. develops and markets baby care, wound care and skin care products that address the needs of consumers and health care professionals and incorporate the latest innovations. The portfolio includes heritage brands JOHNSON'S® Baby and BAND-AID® Brand, as well as leading skin care brands such as AVEENO® and CLEAN & CLEAR®.
The Post Doctoral Scientist will involve the development new systems and methods for application in oral care. Both imaging and spectroscopic techniques may be used to evaluate plaque formation, gingivitis and other oral conditions as well as the use of products to treat these conditions. This individual will be responsible for carrying out research work with minimal supervision, ordering and specification of equipment, collaboration with outside sources and interaction with experts in the field to advance the project, preparation of reports and development of IP.
The Post Doctoral Scientist will be expected to present data within the corporation to cross-functional teams. Individual may have the opportunity to present at scientific meetings and publish in peer-reviewed scientific journals. The Post Doctoral Scientist will be expected to establish and conduct independent and innovative research programs within a multifunctional environment. Additionally, this individual will work with teams involved in both basic and applied research, and will interact with other technology groups.
This is a one year appointment with the potential to renew for an additional year.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. is required. A maximum of 2 years of post doctoral experience is required. A focused degree in electrical/biomedical engineering, biological and/or related sciences is required. Solid understanding in at least two of following subjects is required: biomedical optics, image processing, optical probes, mathematical modeling and biology/physiology. Experience with Matlab or IDL is desirable. Experience with measurements in oral mucosa is desirable. Patent search experience is preferred. Computer literacy is required. The willingness to work with human subjects is required.
This candidate will be self-motivated, productive, and have strong verbal and written communication skills. The ability to provide a demonstration of scientific problem solving skills is required. This candidate will be able to multi-task and work cross-functionally, independently, and as part of a team.
This position may require up to 10% travel in North America and is based in Skillman, NJ.
