Image Processing Expert
Position is available at the National Institute of
Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB), NIH, Maryland. We are looking
for well trained and motivated support professional capable of using the latest
advanced imaging techniques in clinical research laboratories at the main NIH
campus (Bethesda, MD). The position provides
opportunities for a recent graduate to spend two to three years engaged in
clinical investigation of different optical imaging methods.
Position is
intended for the right candidate with a background in optical physics, computer
programming and spectroscopy, preferred an individual who is completed a
graduate/undergraduate student program with a major in math or physics and
strong background in image processing.
Minimum Education/Training
Requirements:
The incumbent preferably will have completed (or in the process of completing) a program with scientific laboratory research experience and computer programming experience. Formal course requirements are limited to math, physics, spectroscopy, informatics, image processing, and physical chemistry with subspecialties in computer programming (C, IDL, Java, UNIX platforms, Matlab), electronics, optical design, physiology, and quantum physics. Satisfactory grades on a qualifying examination in physical sciences, and formal academic training.
Job Summary:
The incumbent will design, validate
and operate optical and other imaging equipment in the research laboratory and
clinic.
- The incumbent will be
involved in image acquisition and data processing during intraoperative
and general clinical procedures for different image modalities.
- The incumbent will design
imaging software in the research laboratory and clinical environment.
- The incumbent will be
involved in design of hyperspectral optical imaging hardware in the
research laboratory and clinical environment.
